Yes I have to say I may never accept a gt short again. Mine took several months to close as well. But then again I've had bofa files take 10.5 months before too. GT by far is the worst with their collections!

"loss mitigator" not motivator... Though they lost that too :p

Tara... At green tree you will be assigned to an account manager. BUT they do not control the loss MIT side. You have to get past that person to get to your loss motivator. The one that is calling you and the seller NON stop is the acct manager/collections. They will do everything in their power to not tell you the loss mititgators name. If you can get it from someone in the short sale cs dept (that's how I got mine) you will be in a much better place. Onc I had the contact with my actual motivator things were much smoother. Also go above the the manager search these threads and find the rep for your area. They be polite and call everyday. Hope you get an answer. All short sales dept will say you need to make payments of they will charge off/etc. I WOULD NEVER ALLOW A SELLER OR BUYER TO DO SO! You really can not trust that any will actually be approved. Especially with GT. best of luck to you. I had a 150k 2nd with GT and they took a hafa 6k pay off with full release. It can be done!

Thanks Terri. I'll switch packages.

Here is a blank short sale package I just received from Greentree.  It took five attempts and the rep finally emailed it to me!  Appears to be a newer version than what is posted on this site.

Payoff request number:  888-316-8733.  Takes 2-4 business days.  Must fax in written permission to request payoff.

@ Rosemary - I called 800-643-0202 on 11/22/11 and was able to speak with an Account Representative who was very helpful.  He faxed Green Tree Servicing's Short Sale Package to me right away.  You might try it again.

Those numbers provided are not good ones.  I am going to try 877-816-9125.  They don't make it easy.

Jessica,

GT took 6% off the seller loan balance ($75,000) on second. B of A the first lien holder, was originally going to give GT $3000, but with a little tweaking, gave them a raise to $4500, and GT knows about the CA  (SB458) anti deficiency and no seller contribution, so they accepted.

LOL...  I wish I could.  I guess the only thing that might save me is the BK the wife seller already filed.  Either way if they don't agree I will suggest the husband talk to an attorney and do the same thing.  Might as well at that point. =)  We will give them a shot and see what happens.  I am not worried about the other liens, I am certain we can get those removed with nothing out of pocket or he can just pay it and have them release them before we close so they aren't on the HUD.  I had one before that had a 40K child support lien and they took 1K. =)  It was amazing...  But trying to figure out what GT usually releases for??
