One more tip. If you send the SS package before you receive an offer you may be able to convince your advisor to order the BPO in advance. I don't know if this will speed up the process.

You can also email your documents to [email protected]. I cc my advisor and request a read receipt. Everytime I receive an automatic response from Citi and my advisor responds within minutes.

Has anyone talked to Citi about whether they are participating in the Fannie Mae HAFA program. I am just getting the runaround. They sent a package out to my seller but when we called to follow up, they tell us that they are not participating and have no information for me. Ugh!

I am glad I can join in this group. I am going to send my SS Pkg next week. And I have gone through comments and those were very helpful.
Thanks.

Amy, I think it's a case where Citi is pretty darn good at processing short sales. I'll take a Citi short ANY DAY!!! ;-)

Ben:

She copied two people at Chase in her reply e-mail to me, so I now have those e-mail addresses if I need them. Thanks for your advice!

Bob - sounds like you are really close on this one.......
Ask her these questions first (they CAN answer these).
If you have not done so already, get the name of her supervisor and "cc" her supervisor on this e-mail (best way to get supervisor contact info, call customer service, and tell them "my negotiator is out of town and I REALLY need to get them a message or e-mail......":

For finding out abuot the ivenstor, ask:

Dear negotiator, will you please tell me:
1 - Is the investor on this a private investor and if so, where do we fax our "QWR" qualified written reqeust, to get contact information for them"
and
2 - Is this a portfolio loan (where the Servicer and Investor are one in the same)
or
3 - Is this a government backed loan (Fannie, Freddie, etc.)
I spoke to my broker and he told me you are authorized to give out this basic information, but, not specific contact information without a QWR...
Love always,
Bob

the above works 99% of the time....if not, contact me off here and I can get you direct contact info (though again, it does sound like you ar REALLY close unless she has been telling you for more than 3 weeks "just waiting for the Investor"

Ben:

I just e-mailed my negotiator at Chase, asking her for an update on status of our file at the investor, and also asking who our investor is. She replied "I am still waiting on the investor, hopefully I will hear something tomorrow, I can not give out investor information, sorry."

Any suggestions? I am thinking that if she promised me a response tomorrow, maybe I shouldn't rock the boat.
