Hi Glenda - You should be prompted, but sometimes you have to call them to tell them to 'initiate a task' (that's what it's called in Equator ; )

With FHA SS there will be a few weeks where they are getting the appraisal & then the ATP (approval to participate - for the seller).  Once that's done they usually then ask for the PA and other forms.  You will need to call cust svc to see if they've actually ordered the appraisal and verified that they really did send it to their appraisal company (I was told two times it was ordered, but found out later that they order never got sent).

Be prepared to "be prompted" about 4 months from now.....call, call, call and remember the saying "If someone makes you mad or sad, you've been had!  You've lost your power".  It can really get to you but don't let it take over your life.

Aw man! You guys are really making me dread this transaction! Sounds like I need to brace myself. Any strategies you found successful in getting it done? So basically, all i need to do is submit the basic package and be prompted for the rest?

Glenda, your answer is probably a mix - they will send you the FHA welcome packet with the FHA forms to fill out and they will issue tasks in Equator with more "forms" to fill out.

I have an FHA short sale and the loan is with Wells Fargo. I'm wanting to ensure that I do the process correctly from the beginning. Does the seller complete the same HMA forms or FHA specific forms or both?

How long is it taking your files to get out of the hands of Document Collection and into the hands of a NEGOTIATOR in Equator with Wells Fargo?  I'm going on 3 months now and the sale date is 30 days away.  Should I be doing something other than waiting?

HAFA approved from 1st (BOA) but Wells Fargo (HELOC) 2nd says it didn't qualify under them for HAFA so I must remove the 3K seller incentive and they will review for a non HAFA short sale?  WHAT?  Then I lose approval from the 1st.  Has anyone seen this before and what can I do if anything..???

I'm gonna lose my marbles -- Can someone help? I need some upper level contact in the FHA set up department or someone associated with the FHA files that can help ASAP.  File was submitted on 5/9 - we've gone back & forth since then to get us set up.  Most recent call on 7/3 it was told to me that a request was sent again on 6/26 for file to be set up with the FHA set up dept & it should be complete set up & assigned to a negotiator by today.  Call in again today to confirm, STILL NOT SET UP!  I'm afraid we'll lose our qualified buyer because WF keeps dropping the ball.
