I received a call from US Bank yesterday and they said they were closing my file due to not receiving pay stubs that I sent over 2 weeks ago. This was not an FHA loan and the seller is a single parent with no income, but she remarried and they decided to use the new husband's income. We were within days of receiving a final approval. Well, here's another frustrating problem I have with a short sale. I received approval from Bank of America on a short sale and they gave me 45 days to close. Great! Except the buyer was doing USDA financing. The lender got started on the paperwork and in the middle of the paperwork decided to remove one of the buyer's names. That didn't stop the process. I have not found anyway to speed BofA up, I have a great contact that is a senior level supervisor and she even struggles to push them along. Stay in contact.. As far as REO trans, my understanding is that only new files are being assigned there.
