My basic question is, would OCWEN approve a short sale on a house that has been vacant for 9 years? It was a single family primary residence before the owners defaulted in 2007 and moved out in 2009.…Continue

FYI. Called into Ocwen yesterday and actually got to Florida by luck. Gentleman at Ocwen stated not one person is fond of the HUBZU process and only Ocwen is benefiting. Additionally, he mentioned all underwriting is based in India and they went from 400,000 loans to 4 million with all the acquistions and now all short sales are behind by up to 30 days. What really irks me is we had an offer in March, they put on HUBZU, failed to attract bids 3 times, then they gave up. We got another offer, they got a new BPO which was 30k higher than their failed HUBZU bids of $120k and declined it out as the foreclosure sale date is coming up on 8/15. Here in Illinois, we fight this through the court system. Ocwen is digging themselves a large hole in the future.
The excerpts from Ron Davis' testimony in Sealy Davis vs Ocwen FSB, Deutsche Bank et. al. (2005) provided the court a glimpse of how business processes were set up to push borrowers into foreclosure and to sell more foreclosed homes at Ocwen.
The motive behind designing those processes was the management's greed. Business processes are corporate habits. Since the motivation remains the same, the processes have only changed slightly.
I wanted to share this deposition that I found online. This is the depo of a former employee of Ocwen. This explains a lot of things. Seems like Ocwen still doing same things. This was an eye opener for me.
Agreed Thom and Jeff...never again with Ocwen. I had a nightmare with a hubzu in June (wound up going to Sheriff Sale... I never lose 'em!) and now I am getting weekly phone calls from a guy we refer to as my Pakistani boyfriend. They have had the full price offer since April 24th, and they simply let everything expire and then we start over. If they didn't start out by leading me to believe the approval was going to arrive any day it wouldn't be as maddening. Ombudsman was a waste of time (I really don't care if you're checking the status regularly if that doesn't move it along!) and I sent an email to the address noted above for escalations and have yet to get a response.
Ocwen... where helping homeowners (right into foreclosure) is what they do!
I have referred my attorney to this site - he has my power of attorney and I believe he will be very pleased with the information provided here! Thank you all so much!
If you have already tried escalating/contacting ombudsman, then you might want to call them and record the conversation. We can present the recorded conversation to regulators and the investor who owns the loan. We can also contact the media for assistance. There are quite a few options.
The house is my home ... my attorney and realtor have been in virtually daily contact with OCWEN ... they are as inept as they can get. The house is empty and the buyer is anxious to get the approval so she can move forward with setting a closing date.
Ellen - Find them another house and not serviced by Ocwen..........
I have a full cash offer for my short sale since mid May - have been told time and time again that we'd have a decision "this week" ... it's going on twelve weeks and we're still getting no progress ... the buyer is going to walk away if we dont get an approval soon. Any suggestions???
