Yes, First Horizon and MetLife are separate entities. We did a short sale for a client who paid her first and second payments both to First Horizon still, despite the acquisition by MetLife. However, for the first we had to deal with MetLife and for the second, First Horizon. Patience and persistence definitely required!

MetLife bought First Horizon/First Tennessee. As far as what to offer the 2nd - start with $1000. The nice thing about having the 1st and 2nd with the same lien holder is they will generally work this out for you in their approval letter and tell you how to write it up. Typically you will not need to do any negotiation.

Does anyone has any contacts to upper level management at First Horizon/Met Life to get a file escalated? I have had a file with them since March 2010 and it still has not been assigned. They claimed they have escalated the file, but I need someone with decision making authority. Thanks!

This has to be one of the slowest and dumbest lender's I've worked with in a while. Offer was submitted in early August 2009 and we are still waiting for an approval. The sale has now been postponed over 6 months and the buyer is looking to lower the offer since because the market has declined. To make matters worse, the offer was above their BPO amount..... Like I said....dumb.

Hello everyone. I have a seller with First Horizon as the 1st. I received the same too fax #s that some of you referenced in your comments. I can't get through using these numbers. Does anyone have an email address or fax # that works for submitting the Authorization Letter as well as my Short Sale Packet. I just got the listing on Friday and I have a contract too, and I not able to move forward. Thanks in advance for the help and tips!

12/22 Submitted SS package to First Horizon
01/12 Negotiator assigned
03/17 BPO completed
Now they are saying it will take another 15 BUSINESS DAYS to review the file.
Buyers walk if no response by the end of the month as they have to close in time to receive tax credit. Left several voice mails to negotiator, they would not give me his e-mail. Any suggestions/ contact info appreciated thanks in avance!!
