This is a new twist with BOA. I received a written approval today yet they're only approving a partial amount of the county taxes. Clearly to me an error made on the part of whoever submitted the updated HUD that they requested. The file had been around several months and when they were ready to submit to investor for final approval, the wanted the HUD updated out through Nov 3; which I did. Of course this increased the county taxes. Approval letter came back with totals indicating that they were paying the Original HUD county taxes and past due HOA; numbers from the original HUD to the dollar. When I brought this to the attention of negotiator that it was clearly an oversight and to please resubmit to the investor to update approval, he said he cannot if I didin't go with what I had he'd have to cancel file and I have to start all over. HA....ever hear of such a ridiculous response? So now I need to track management down to get over this hurdle when I thought I was so close.

Lynn - I have heard of such ridiculum!! Sounds like a LAZY negotiator... I would get supervisor's email... BUT if it's only a bit, would the buyer pay it to save time?
You're right Wendy he is absolutely lazy! Unfortunately the difference is roughly $1300. I'm gong to track the supervisor/manager down next week.

For what it's worth, this has happened to me and you hit the nail on the head......Lazy. And BofA just *loves* to cancel files and they threaten - and do - all the time. I could have a meltdown right here and now about how BofA is Satan's spawn and they are wreaking havoc on this nation - but only a few of us see it.....and your situation is just one example of what they are doing to people.

Anyway......I did fight it and eventually got to someone who had some sense. It took a while, though. This was several months ago, so I don't remember the particulars, but I do remember that it took long enough that my updated amount on the latest HUD had to be updated again during the "fight."

Not sure what your purchase price is, but $1,300 may not be enough to drag it out......I'd ask the buyer if he/she really wants to make a scene or just eat it and be done; by fighting it, the deal is being put in jeopardy. Keep in mind, BofA will have the gall to impose a per diem for every day past your approval deadline. And don't think they won't! That'll have to be another battle.
Laurel, oh it's incredible isn't it? Thank goodness I estimated high enough on past due HOA fees for the HUD, got the Association to reduce the balance owed by homeowner and now I have enough to cover the shortage and nobody has to bring any monies to the table.

Lynn - Good for you! That's the way to handle these things......always over estimate - everything. Great job! Let another one bite the dust!
