AHMS is charging a buyer a 1% administrative fee on a short sale.  Is there a way around it?  Will they let the deal die if the buyer won't pay the fee?

My approvals as of late with them have not had the fee but I've heard others that did get the fee.  Tell them the buyer is refusing to pay and see what they do.  Push back.  If they wanted the fee, they should have disclosed it at the beginning and not at approval time.

I think others may be better at responding on this one, but push back before you give in.

ServiceLink charges this from the proceeds, and reduce agent commission by 1% to cover it.
I had one with AHMS that we paid and one that we did not.  Have you thought of having the buyer cover it?

I have done two short sales with AHMSI, both of their approval letters stated the 1% fee that it had to be paid by the buyer...I was fortunate that buyer was okay paying fee, so don't know if they would waive it or not.

Thanks, I'm hoping the buyer agrees to pay.
