Recently I have heard disturbing news about DTS trying to "assign" Bank of America short sale listings that are currently listed, to one of their own participating agents to "solicit".
My questions to you:
1. Have you had DTS try to assign a different agent to a Bank of America short sale listing that you have?
2. Have you had DTS tell you you will lose "points" if you do not accept assignments from them, even if a property is listed with another agent?
Please discuss.

Wendy,
I am a participating agent with the DTS program since last November. I haven't had them assign a home I have listed to another agent nor have they told me I lose points if I don't accept. I have turned down some due to unsafe areas. I will say this............most of the leads I have gotten are homes under $50K. I guess these are the people they can't get to call them back so they have us do the leg work to get them in contact with the bank. To date, I have had one successful listing that is going to close here in May and that is out of 10 or so listing assignments. Many of the homeowners are in denial or don't believe they will get any money at closing with the coop program. Some get real offended when I do the door knock too. The only good thing about this program is getting possible leads that we don't have to pay a referral fee on and most of them will pay a minimum $3K for listings that sell under $50K. I am sure to email and ask before making contact with the homeowner because there are some that 6% of whatever it sells for and they will tell you. I hope this helps.
Sheila,
Thank you for your feedback.
I did a few calls .. basically they send out their database of borrowers eligible for the CoOp program and they don't even know the status of the properties in many cases. The agent is supposed to call and explain the CoOp program and I believe they only get paid by getting the listing. It is against Realtor code to solicit other agents listings so they need to be careful.
