When is the latest I can initiate a short sale on Equator to extend the sale date?

I have a potential seller who is currently working on his loan modification with Wells Fargo. He has a sale date coming up on April 3rd, which is less than a month from now. If the loan mod gets rejected this month, when is the latest I can initiate a short sale on Equator in order to push back his trustee sale date and get a short sale approved? Typically how long does Wells Fargo extend the sale date? Thank you!

I am working on a Wells Fargo SS right now and I was told that if the sale date is within 45 days, it has to be negotiated outside of Equator. I was told to fax my offer to 866-903-1053. In my experience, they will only postpone the sale date 30 days at a time.

On another Wells Fargo SS with a 3/16/12 sale date, I faxed in an offer on 2/28/12. I just found out today they will not postpone the sale date because we don't have SS approval, and they will not open the file because there is not enough time to get an approval before the sale date.

Yep, fax it.

There is no specific timeline on it....call them. Because a loan modification was started they might  streamline the short sale.

I had two extended this week...both were extended until June.

Good luck ~

Krissy, He should be calling the foreclosure attorney to ask to put a hold on the foreclosure. Or just go to the Court House.... The problem with the banks is that one Department doesn't talk to the other. You can always initiate a short sale (you better have an offer) and call the bank (until you are sure they put a hold on the foreclosure date)  to put a stop on the foreclosure. And, at the same time, calll yourself the Foreclosure Attorney for the bank. Ask your client to sign a Third Party Authorization. Good Lucky!
