I have a new short sale listing, unfortunately after reading thru the comments it looks like it will be difficult or unsuccessful as the first is with Metlife. The comments here state that Metlife doesn't handle short sales well, nor do they care. Has anyone been successful in closing a SS w/Metlife lately?
Met Life is a joke! Spent an hour on hold Friday and 45 minutes this morning. Now on hold with FHA. Trying to laugh about it....
Travis- I would recommend contacting HUD directly.
They can contact MetLife and help to get things moving.
I have had to contact them occasionally when I have a lender dragging their feet.
Travis, call me or email me on this. Metlife upper echelon don't seem to care about your short sale either and I've had to do some crazy things to get their attention. 719-205-6478 or [email protected]
.
Anyone have an upper contact at Met Life? My negotiator just quit or was fired a few days ago. She was supposed to have sent a variance to HUD for approval on a deal of mine. New negotiator hasnt responded for 2 days!
Update from my last post. I've been in touch with a rep from the executive response team for a month and though there is some communication, the file is still dragging at a slow rate. I should be closing this about now but instead I haven't even gotten an approval to participate out of them. Thank God they stopped originating loans.
Ok, I found out who the CEO was and emailed him directly. 20 hours later I got a call from his executive staff and will have someone else from the executive staff contact me to get the short sale going in the right direction. I asked who else I can contact instead of the CEO level next time and I didn't get a contact (yet) but she mentioned there is a new program in place where the seller can contact Metlife and they have a "BAR" representative to help them out with issues.
Metlife is worthless and reminds me of Countrywide back in 2008. Does anyone have a contact at the executive level that might impact my FHA short sale that's been dragging on for months? I contacted Darrell Powell with HUD and he helped about 2 months ago but haven't gotten any response from my latest requests for help.
Although when I called Loss Mittigation at Met Life they weren't aware that they have financial and LOA forms, they are on the Met Life website!
Here they are:
