I am being harassed by short sale client's lender bill collectors

How do you short sale superstars deal w/ bill collectors, not your bill collectors, but your short sale client's bill collectors. They know that the house is pending on a short sale, they said "Your name  and contact number is on the short sale information, that's why I am calling you. So how much are you paying today? YOU owe $xxxxx."

Does the client's bill collectors have the right to call us, the agents?

Anybody experiencing this so far? And how do you politely answer?

I had a bill collector call for one of my clients.  He didn't ask for me, but the client. I said he had the wrong number! After about five times, he stopped  If the bill collector has your authorization, it must be the borrower's short sale lender.  In that case, I would tell him you are not the party to  call for the  collection. I would not worry about being polite if it's harassment.

This is happening because, somehow you number has been added to the Borrower's contact info.  At somepoint they asked or without permission they added it.

Just have the client call with you and have him update his phone number.  Then you must give him his new numbers.  BTW, try this number 555-555-5555 or 123-321-4567.  That way they will stop harrasing you or your client!  JK! dont do that, because someone has to be the point of contact for the BPo or sudden changes.

So, call them and have your client update his contact info.
