I am in the middle of a short sale in California.  We are 4 months into the process.  2.5 months in the primary lean holder (wells Fargo) asked us to sign two contract addendums and then asked us to put down an earnest deposit (which we did.)  After that our agent was told by the listing agent that we were close to getting all the approvals (that was a month ago).  Since then the sellers agent will not return my agents calls or emails.  Our agent has gone so far as contact the home owner, they responded by saying they aren't sure what is happening, but their agent has been telling them that she has been keeping our agent informed.  I'm at a lose as what to do next?  Any suggestions?  Hire a lawyer, walk away?  I don't understand why the selling agent is playing this game.  Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  fyi - agent is not dealing with any personal issue...
