I called CAR @ Los Angeles Phone: (213) 739-8200 since on their website there is no other point of contact for the short sale assistance desk-figured they would know, since it's posted as news release on their own site..I am a member of SRAR, I suppose I should've tried them first..

Thanks Gail!

Hi Erica,

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your inquiry on the Fannie Mae Short Sale Assistance Desk.  Which MLS in CA do you subscribe to?  And, which phone number at CAR did you call for more information?  I will do my best to get this resolved asap.

I want you to know the Short Sale Assistance Desk is currently offered to CAR members through MLSListings, Inc., CRISNet (Southland Regional Assoc. of Realtors), Pasadena-Foothills, and it is coming soon to Burbank, SoCAL, Ventura and Conejo-Simi.    Also, we are in discussions with numerous other MLSs in CA who are interested in offering this important benefit to their MLS subscribers.  If your MLS does not offer this benefit, please ask them to contact Fannie Mae for more information at [email protected].

I hope this is helpful.

There is no assistance desk, I called CAR and they don't have a clue of this..also the only # they have is for the FNMA resource center-and they don't help either..they'll listen to your problem and then tell you its up to the servicer to make the call, and they will not escalate anything themselves...
So much for an assistance desk..unless you happen to have other info.
