Chase - We're trying to get a payoff and not having any luck - Help!

We've been trying to get a payoff from Chase Bank for the first mortgage. This mortgage is not even a short sale - the sellers are only short on the second (we do have the pay off for the second mortgage). We have been requesting the payoff for three weeks now and are getting nowhere fast. Despite repeated phone calls, they just tell us that they have put it on priority status and there is nothing else they can do. Buyers have signed loan docs and everything is ready to go once we get the pay off. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions. Just wanted to report that we have not been successful in getting the payoff yet. Even have a company vice president working on it. Why does it have to be so difficult to get a payoff??? You'd think we were asking for someone's first born.

Hi Vicki,

Yes.. I sugggest the seller to call, not the escrow company, not the Realtor, but the seller...
The seller should call and ask for a rush, Chase might have a rush fee but at this point.. paying the fee might not be such a bad idea....

Help lots of people and have a great day!

Vicki - is the 1st lien with Chase in foreclosure? If so and you are in a trust deed state where foreclosures are handled by a trustee you can request the payoff from them. In other words the foreclosure attorney will provide a payoff demand statement with a per diem amount.

try 866-394-4034 for WAMU loan.

I think Chase loans are still being treated different from original WAMU loans. If you can find out from seller if loan was a CHASE original loan or WAMU loan. For CHASE, try calling 1-800-848-9136 ; for WAMU loan, 1-877-533-8960.
See if that works.
