We've had several short sales lately with Chase and everything comes from them via fax. On our last Chase closing, I asked the negotiator if she wanted me to email her a document back because I noticed her email address was on the fax cover sheet. She told me that they're no longer allowed to send the documents or receive them via email -- that everything has to be via fax. I agree -- it doesn't make any sense, but that's the word I got as well.

This is true.  I know their email strings are [email protected], and I knew our negotiator's first and last name, so I sent 26 emails with 'a-z' middle initial. The one that did not get returned was the right one. BUT then I found out that (allegedly) the negotiator won't get my email if they have not added me to her authorized list. 

 

The faxes actually show up in the negotiator's inbox, so I treat it like an email.  And I make it funny. Draw a picture of my dog. Make fun  of my own artwork.  Compared short sales to herpes...just when you think you have it under control...flare up!  Since I started doing that, she calls me more and we talk like two human beings.

Thanks for the comments.  They definately will not send or accept anything unless it's faxed.  My "gut" says that it's so they have a confirmation record of everything - probably because of the "foreclosure mess".  No problem for me, I use Ring Central so I don't have to feed a fax machine!

Ring Central is amazing.  I just switched to Go Paperless because of my tablet PC.  They offer Internet Faxing, E-Sign and Document manager for a very reasonable price.

They will still get e-mails but are told not to respond to them... at least that has been my experiance.
