Just found out from Bank of America that if you want to know who the investor is; the agent needs to have the homeowner request in writing with their loan # and fax it to 1-800-520-5019. On the cover put att: correspondence and a receiving fax #.   Should have an answer with 24-48 hours.  Has anyone had any luck getting  the information over the phone?

Jennifer, my homeowners had luck getting it over the phone but honestly I'm not sure I trust the answer....LOL.  I'm going to try this within the week.  I'll let you know how it turns out.

So, I faxed on Friday.  It's Tuesday and no response.  Should I fax again?
Ok, I'm going to try again, but so far this hasn't worked :(

Jennifer,

you really should mail it to the correspondence department, then they have to act on it. I have two addresses, or you could just check on the back of your seller's last mortgage statement:

Address to send QWR to:
Customer Correspondence Unit / Bank of America
CA 9-705-09-31
1000 West Temple
Los Angeles, CA 90012-1514

or:

BAC Home Loans Servicing, LP
Correspondences Unit
CA6-919-0141
P.O. 5170
Simi Valley CA 93062

I have been given incorrect information over the phone, and as the servicer can wait up to three months to actually provide the answer, you want to make sure they have to give you the goods at that point.

Hi Jennifer and Jim,

This is what happened.  I DID get a response via mail.  I gave my office address and fax to respond and the response was they needed to look into it and I needed to be patient.  So far nothing but I suspect in a few weeks I'll have the investor.

I think this is good to do, but as far as I can see you won't get a faxed response.  Just mailed and it will take a while
