Words of wisdom from SunTrust CS rep today, referring to the buyer for my shortsale listing.

Also - last rep had told me to expect a response to escalation in 24-72 hours - but todays rep says "she must not have read the memo telling them not to quote timelines for response".

Depending on who is telling the truth - this is either one of the most incompetant or most arrogant companies in business.

This bank is just bruttalll
Another beauty of a conversation last night - "we can't escalate until there has been 60 days without any activity on our side".
So a week of persistance paid off today - three (count em) three emails from Kathy Bagby! She wanted to confirm whether we had one offer or two (down to one now) and asked for a copy of the HUD1 (was in the original packet they received 3/2) plus new arms length affidavits (original affidavit had all parties on one form, now they want one for each party - buyer, seller, both realtors).
She has not answered my request to get this to a negotiator by next week - we'll keep the pressure on...
Mine was escalated on March 26. Kathy Bagby had it for over a month. Once we sent additional required docs it sat there so long they asked for updated docs again! Geez....quite a loop, huhu?

Submitted for final approval on May 15. No word.....buyer getting really antsy now after almost 6 months.....AND he watns the tax credit.....

Suntrust short sale? Never again!
Agreed, Michael - but at least we've now been sent on to the negotiating department as of last Friday. No name yet, so t he chasing goes on...
So Kathy - do I understand that you had about 6 weeks from the time it was sent to a negotiator until you had your approval letter? Now that we're in the negotiating dept, I'm trying to estimate how long (and tiresome) this next stage will be.

We still don't have an approval letter! Buyer is really bummed 'cause if we don't get loan started soon, we can't meet tax credit deadline to close. I got final negotiator's name and have been sending emails to various email addresses based on his name but so far all are coming back to me... I keep hearing we are at the end but good grief this is not professional. Who knows how long it will take from here.
