I had a closing on property 10/30/09 and after the sale the bank told me there was not enough money to cover the cost of the property (they had mailed closing statement to out of state seller)..This has turned into a short sale (contract was 9/9/09) it has gone from BOA to Equator and I have spent over 33 hrs. phone time trying to contact someone to help me..They now want a 3rd party authorization uploaded to their website..I can't reach them by phone-IMPOSSIBLE-where/what is the 3rd party authorization?

Are you the buyer? I am confused. The agent or the person handling the short sale will need to upload the authorization to be able to access the sellers mortgage account
This is your signed authorization from the sellers to be able to work on their behalf on the short sale. It notes the lender, loan #, usually the SS numbers of the sellers for ID purposes (at least the last 4 digits), signatures of sellers, etc.

Normal part of a short sale package. You probably already did it but call it something else.

A 3rd party authorization is an authorization signed by the seller, with property address plus bank name and loan No..
You put that in the heading of the Authorization to Release Information,
then follow with lines for seller(s) signature(s), printed names, and last four digits of SS#

The text should be something like: " I (we) authorize you to release to ....(name), ...(company), telephone No. and fax No., as well as email address....., any information that he/she may require about my loan for the above referenced property. You may reproduce this document to acquire reference from more than one source."

That should work. Get it out to them ASAP, and you'll be in business.
