Short Sale Welcome Call

Thank you for initiating a short sale with Bank of America.  Our welcome team will be attempting to contact you within the next five business days. This team is committed to preparing you for the short sale process and answering any questions you may have. Enclosed is an overview of the process including key information to successfully complete a short sale. This information will be discussed during the welcome call, as well.

Please be aware that the welcome call you will receive is part of a pilot program that will reach only a small number of agents who have initiated short sales.  Due to the small size of this pilot program, it is very likely that you will not receive a call on future initiations.

Following the welcome call, please direct all communications to your short sale specialist through the Equator messaging system, or to our Customer Care specialists who can be reached by calling 1.866.880.1232.  Again, thank you for initiating a short sale with Bank of America.

Yes!  I received an email like that, too.  I also received a lovely welcome phone call from a nice B of A rep who wanted to "review the short sale process" with me.  LOL...But, hey.  B of A gets points for trying!

Yes, been getting those for a couple of months. I think it's all for "PR" - doesn;t make any difference in the process!

I've gotten this twice and received 1 call.

Yes, as early as early January.

BofA has a lot of outright silliness in it's whole process.  But at least these calls make sense....even if what follows often doesn't.

Somebody at the top of BofA really wants to hurry short sales along to make them time-line competitive with ordinary sales.  But it's sort of like trying to get a mountain(ous bureaucracy) to move along quicker.

Hi Jeff, Just do not forget that you cannot do any FHA short sales on Equator. It has to be done the old fashion way through the fax which is sooooo much better!! Once you speak to that person who calls they will give you a web site to go to just for Realtors doing short sales. It is www.bankofamerica.com/realestateagent I guess it will help agents who are new to the process but I did not get anything out of it. Thanks, Tracy
I did get a call from BofA a few months ago explaining the process to me.  I had closed a lot of BofA short sales and knew more than the lady reading the script to me:)   I guess it is all better than the way they used to be

OMG -

I didn't get the email or the memo, but I certainly got the welcome call on a new BAC short sale - and - it was pleasantly received.

Yes I have received this several times and the short sale process moved a bit more smoothly with these files. They direct to the agent resource center and just want to make sure you understand the process.
BoA gets high mark for trying .. They've truly improve their process .. My first short sale with BoA is 2008 and nearly lost it with them not getting the fax, unreasonable demand... 1st level negotiator, 2nd level negotiator... but now it runs smoothly on equator for traditional short sale.. HAFA .. that is a different story for them...
