I had a listing approved for BoA's HAFA Program for 120 days starting September 9, 2011.  The 120 days were up January 10th.  I received an offer on February 2nd and uploaded it into Equator on February 3rd. The offer was rejected because the marketing period expired and BoA is demanding the Seller sign a Deed-in-Lieu. Any suggestions on how to get them to look at this offer?

Tweet  @BofA_Help  they are terrific and will get you help.

Just include your name, # and best time to call you- they'll call you back in about 2 hours

They just called back.  They are going to try and reiniate a regular short sale in Equator for me.  She said it would take 48 hours.  Fingers crossed!

Ok - so a little more than 2 hours :-)   I hope it all works out for you !!!

HAFA at BOA has likely taken missteps. Did they do everything on time? Did you get your 120 days? If they caused delays which affected you, you might resubmit to HAFA and argue your point with their escalation department.  However, AMS, LRC, etc. are just stepchildren of BOA and have no real control - decisions go back to some unnamed committee at BOA to decide.  More likely, someone will look at your new submission and see that it timed out of HAFA and never get it back to HAFA.  It could be a big battle - you need to decide if it is worth it.

(It would have been tremendously easier to ask for an extension before it expired - HAFA does not notify you have anything important - I assume politicians set that up - only mail to the homeowner - a braindead thing to do, otherwise you might have been notified of the timing and it might have been suggested that you get an extension.)

[On the other hand, I have found WF insufferable compared to BOA about HAFA deadlines, so you probably were not treated as badly as you could be..]

The Social Media Group called yesterday and they have re-initiated my short sale in Equator.  Thanks for the help!
