Are you talking about the collectors not calling a delinquent home owner's mortgage debt??? Maybe there is some language in the HAFA agreement where the Lender must call and be in contact with the borrower until the file is initiated and in process...Or could it be that BofA is up to their old tricks??? Anyone know the answer???

Things change every day over at Bank of America. Not all of it is for the better.

Very cool.  I just received a call from Sherri with Bank of America's Twitter team.  She wanted to reach out and explain to me why BofA has this policy.  She explained that under the HAFA program they have certain requirements to reach out to the borrower (by phone and mail) and to obtain financial information that it is viewed as a direct conflict to do that with a cease and desist on the file.  She also indicated that collection calls should not be going on during the HAFA process anyway.   Hope I got that last part right.  Anyway, very cool to know they are reading our blogs and care enough to call.  I have to say I love the BofA Twitter Team!  They are so awesome!  Thank you Sherri!

If you've done HAFA, you know that the bank ignores you and goes to the homeowner.  I have had plenty of late papers because HAFA insists upon doing it this way.  When I can get them to email the papers to me, I often have them signed and back the next day or so.  I'm sure HAFA stipulates that documents go directly to the homeowner.  Typical braindead politicians' doings.  I wouldn't be surprised if they mandate the type of hitching post to be used for pony express when they deliver the papers.  How is that telegraph thing coming, btw?

Have you thought of just giving the bank one of your phone numbers instead? Keep them happy and the homeowner happy..

We just went ahead and removed it. 

And of course subsequent to that found out they don't want HAFA on that file anyway.  LOL.
