We made an offer on a short sale house on Oct 13; seller accepted and submitted on Oct 19. I believe the home has 2 liens both with BOA. Our offer was 91% of the list price. On Nov 23, BOA sent us a counter of only $5k more. We accepted the same day! So I guess the next step is to wait for the written approval correct? How long does that typically take? Since it's been nearly 3 weeks since we accepted the counter-offer, is that typical for BOA?

Oh, yuck!  That's not what I want to hear!  I just accepted my counter from B of A yesterday and was wondering how long it could take.  I've asked my agent to find out if there is MI on the loan but he hasn't given me an answer.  Good luck to you, Noelia!  I'd love to know when you finally do get the written agreement!

I will update!

I'm guessing there may be some issues with our short sale being that it has been a few weeks. I have no idea if there is MI in ours either. I never asked. I don't know if it would help knowing. But good luck to you! And update me on your situation as well!

It's the end of the year. ALL Servicers, Investors, and MI approvals are taking longer as they make there final push. Also, there are many variables as to how long this approval process will take. So, just because Seller A's approval took 4 weeks, doesn't mean that Seller B's approval will.

Very true Brent!

I just got an email from my Realtor stating I have to sign the "Agreement to Amend/Extend Contract" because of the new purchase price we accepted from BOA; however, this form doesn't say anything about including closing costs like our original offer said. Should it be noted on this agreement? Everything on the agreement says "no change".
