It looks like most of you have gotten as far as being assigned a negotiator, ours will not call. We were assigned a contact person to send the offer to and it was acknowledged a month ago. Was told a negotiator/asset manager would call within 7 days, three weeks have passed and still no word. The other agent will not call back after repeated messages. Any suggestions. We could really use some help before we lose our buyer.

Patty have you put this sale on Equator?  Are you checking Equator?  I was given the same info & my contact person told me to email my offer to GMAC which I did.  The next day the negotiator called & told me i was given the wrong info & that I had to upload my info into Equator, which I did.  Looks like I have a on top of it negotiator.  I faxed my original offer into 866-502-8479 & got almost an immediate call back.    You might try faxing it again.  Good Luck!

I have not put it on Equator but it is worth a try. I was given a fax number at GMAC to send the offer and they acknowledged it right away, then nothing. I had thought about faxing again just to get some kind of response. Thanks for the tip.

Jeanne,

GMAC is not listed as one of the lenders taking packages for short sale on Equator. What should I do now? I would not know who to send it to if I do not have a direct link to GMAC. What did you negotiator tell you? It has been hard for me not to get really frustrated with the whole process.

Jeanne,

Thank you for your help. You were right, they had put it on Equator and not bothered to let me know. Hopefully things will go better from here.

OK good-make sure you load everything that is required into Equator.  I had to do the offer-seller's financials etc.  I check Equator every day as sometimes I have tasks that show up and I don't get an email telling me reminding me.  Also I would send an email to your negotiator thru Equator & maybe one to the supervisor telling them what happened with the long time frame.  Sometimes there is a time frame (usually days) that you have to respond & complete your task or you automatically get booted from Equator.  Good luck!  I love this site as it just helped me get a short sale closed with Ocwen.  Great place to pick up information from other agents.

I'm having the same issue on a USAA loan serviced by GMAC. In the beginning we moved along quickly, received the BPO, negotiator asked for additional documents, etc. and then silence for weeks now. I've sent status requests thru Equator and have called customer service where I just get referred back to the negotiator.  If anyone has any escalation phone numbers please help!

Chris,

Have you had any luck with talking directly to your negotiator? When I ran into questions and potential problems working through Equator, I called my negotiator direct and she was very receptive. That does not mean that all are that easy but it worked for me. I am about to close my deal and we did a combo of working through Equator and phone to get the job done.

Patty,

Yes, I've called the Negotiator and although his instructions on his voicemail greeting are DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE I have anyway.  No return calls.  No return messages thru Equator.  Yesterday I finally was able to escalate to a Supervisor through Customer Service (because they saw my log in Equator of repeated attempts to get a status).  Within an hour my Negotiator sent a message through Equator and we've been in contact ever since.
