Anyone have a handle on a percentage or rate of sellers actually accepting to pay the promissory note? Do the banks ever negotiate those numbers?

I've been in the process of buying a short sale for four months...just noticed it's no longer on the mls listings and it was on there as under contract. Bad sign?
