Hi All,

This is my first short sale with Sun Trust and I was informed by the short sale department that it can take up to 6 months to complete and the file probably wont be reviewed for 60 days. I thought BOA were bad but this is ridiculous.

Can any of you give me time frames to work with?

Thanks

Kathy

Kathy - Unfortunately, they aren't kidding. That is their 'standard'. But as we are all aware, bank 'standards' re meant to be improved upon! Be certain to EMAIL the package using the email from the group page as well as fax it in - and nag them non-stop (within reason, of course) till you get it done! ST is bad....but there is always someone worse...or so we'd all like to think, right?

Six months, more delays and end the end they are unrealistic about value. I will not take any new listings that are serviced by Suntrust. I actually emailed the investor on my last file and have a formal complaint with the OOP of Suntrust over the mishandling of our file.
If more Realtors complain this company will hire some extra help to work these files.
Fills me with lots of confidence and warm fuzzies..........I dont think:(
Oh well, I will do what I can to help out this client and see how the journey goes.
Thanks.
Kathy
Oh, dear I just rec'd 2 new listings both with SunTrust. So far I have found that I will call and check to see if our file is complete and 1 person will tell me the file looks good and then at the next check in they will ask me if I even read their website on what needs to get sent it because they don't have everything :(

This is going to be a fun one!
I have never dealt with a company so replete with inept and ridiculously arrogant employees. Period. Each telephone conversation is less heartening than the last. They are so ignorant of how to negotiate an FHA short sale, that I was told by a HUD rep that they would be there to educate them at the end of Aug. or beg of Sept.. I just spoke to the "negotiator" on Friday and he, once again, had no clue of what he is doing, so I can only hope that he hadn't yet been "educated". Heaven help any of us working with this group of fools!
Kathy, I just got one done with them on a $1.7 in 29 days, we didn't come to terms by $140k so home is going to auction today:(
Good luck with your Short Sale......
Hi Kathy:

Do you drink? If you don't, the wonderful people at SunTrust can probably get you to start.

Six months is probably our average with them, and we have seen them take longer. Stuff just does not move over there. You'll have to be on them all the time. They are our least favorite company to work with and my people GROAN when I hand them a file where SunTrust is the lender. Every single time we have had problems with realtors screaming and yelling at us and sending hate-mail all over their company about how we don't know what we're doing, it was a SunTrust deal. We can't give the agents or the seller any information because SunTrust doesn't give us any information, and we end up looking like the idiots.

That is our experience anyway. I did read in here somewhere that one of the Realtors has had great luck with them because of contacts he has. Maybe that is what it takes.

Seriously thinking of dropping them as a company we'll work with to be honest.
Sun Trust is slower than molasses - they just don't care whether they've got a smoking hot deal or not. They work on their time frame and that's been my experience.
