Hello everyone!
I had a short sale closing with GT on Monday 9/17/12. Yesterday the seller contacted me to say that GT reported to experian that it was a deed in lieu and for the entire loan amount. Per the SS approval letter, it was to be reported as satisfied but short of full amount due.
My suggestion was to write a letter to experian to state they had incorrect information on her file. Her credit report monitoring company said she needed to call GT rather than contact experian. Does anyone know what her steps should be to resolve this?
Thanks for your help

File a dispute with the Experian, Transunion, or Equifax (whomever is reporting this). Many have online dispute forms, but if they do not have a way to add attachments, I would mail in a dispute as well. If they don't respond within, I think it's 30 days, it's my understanding it shall be stricken entirely from her record with that agency.
