Okay, people who were skeptical of my earlier post criticizing the integrity of the listing agent in our negotiation....read this: He just got a 15 month prison sentence for bankruptcy fraud. I am trying to find out right now when it starts. Our deal is still with the negotiator at Chase. It just got forwarded to Freddie Mac.
Anybody have any ideas about what happens now? Do we have to start over since the listing agent is going to have to change? Anybody out there had a situation where one of the agents had to step down and let someone else take over while the short sale is being considered by Chase or in the closing process?

Thom,
The crazy thing is a couple of days ago before we had the request from Chase to change the HUD, after months of disinterest on his part, he demanded the contact information for the negotiator at Chase. I really think he was going to try to sabotage our deal by substituting it for this cash deal he had put together. Not that that would have worked...but who knows what slimy tale he would have told the Chase negotiator. We didn't give him the contact info. If I didn't have a solid relationship with the seller, I think we would be a bit worried about what was going to happen next. This guy is not operating in any sort of rational way. I am going to check into if he can get is license back after his jail term....if so, I will writing a detailed complaint to whoever I need to in order to be sure he can never get it back.

Since there is already a contract signed by Buyer and Seller he has no control over the transaction. maybe his sentence will be extended by teh time he starts serving his term as there could be more charges coming !
