How long does it take to get a Negotiator assigned?

Short Sale Experts,

An executed contract offer was submitted to Chase on June 24th. I have called into the Short Sale Department multiple times since. The rep. tells me the same thing each time - "a Negotiator has not been assigned". How long does it take to assign a Negotiator. One Customer Service Rep. said it takes 20 business days for assignment. Is this correct? Is there anywhere I can call to speed up the process? Right now I am just calling into the Short Sale 1-866-233-5320 line... Thanks..

Update - I just contacted Chase. The Customer Service Rep said that a Negotiator named Gabriel Barnecett was assigned this morning. The Rep. told me that she will be in contact with or my attorney within the next 72 hours. That I should give her a chance to review my file before trying to contact her. My contract was submitted on Friday June 24th. We had the 4th of July holiday, and a couple weekends in between. Based on the comments I have received, I would say the suggested wait time that some of you have noted was right on the mark. I have recently send in updated bank statements and pay stubs. Now I guess I wait to her from Ms. Barnecett and hope for the best. Has anyone delt with this negotiator in the past?  Any tips?  Thanks..

I find this group discussion interesting.  According to the PFS HUD 2008-43 mortgagee letter, the Mortagagee is not legally allowed to look at an offer before HUD, as well, they are suppose to assign an FHA approved appraiser to give me an "as-is" FMV price to list my house at.  So how am I suppose to send in a Short Sale pack that includes an offer and a listing, if I don't even know what I am suppose to list it for?

I finally defaulted on my loan today so I could actually get my loan coded to the right department. Everytime I call Chase they tell me that I am not in default so I do not get the right options/prompts when I call in for Loss Mit/Imminent Default/FHA SS.    I have spent 5 months and about 40 phone calls trying to get the same answer for the FHA loan process more than once.  Instead I have gotten all those 800# listed at the beginning of this posting and a few more.  I faxed part A of my package to all the fax numbers I was given, but not part B as HUD told me I had to wait until I had an FHA appraiser assigned by my mortgagee.  But my mortagagee seems to want to do anything but the letter says.  Do they lose money on PFS?  What is the real deal?  I am so confused.
