We have a Bank of america HAFA that was pre-approved with a list price and SSA was signed. Offer submitted & just waiting for the final short sale approval. Found out that the loan is up for servicer release at end of the month. Wondering if anyone has been successful in getting B of A to postpone the servicer release especially with a HAFA short sale??

Do an escalation. If you have the online escalation tool.. use that. If you can push and get the file as far along as possible they might end up keeping the file with BofA. I've done it recently. But it helps to have someone on the escalations team working the file because it gets more personal attention.

Hi AnaLee, what stage were you at with the short sale when you got them to postpone the servicer release?

I was almost ready to get the approval letter and the buyer backed out.. I had just gotten a new buyer and was re-initiating everything when they told me about the postponement. Erica is right.. raise hell.. that's what I did too on another file that they actually service released and didn't tell me until two days before it was to be done.. i ended up getting it closed with b of a even though it was service released and then b of a got the funds to the other bank.. that almost never happens.. they just wanted to shut me up im sure.. i was a psychopath . and you almost have to be like that just to get anything done with these banks.. and if psycho doesn't work.. damsel in distress.. keep calling til a male CSR answers and play the role.. drastic times.. drastic measures.. it works.

LOL...that's exactly right, do anything and everything to get their attn. Sara I hope you got a little further with the contact info I provided yesterday.

Hi Sara, I got mine stopped completely about a month ago. Bank of America was in the process of releasing while in the middle of Approving the offer. All the paperwork for HAFA Approved as well.
I escalated, and escalated and spoke to anybody and everybody to make them stop it, since the Investor was also Bank of America they were able to stop just a few days prior to it taking place. I literally raised "hell" with all their depts, including the Office of the President, Twitter, Facebook etc.
It was an error on their end, and clearly as it happens often the departments weren't communicating with one another. Best of luck to you! Don't give up!

Hi Erica & AnaLee-- I'm still working on it :-( Thanks SO MUCH for your help. Will keep everyone updated. So far, it's just a lot of phone calls/messages and emails.

Still have the social media team at Bank of America working on this.....to be continued

If it's an approved short sale it is possibly to postpone a service release to allow the transaction to close. It's important to know that almost everyone you speak to at Bank of America does not know that this is even an option. It's all about who you know. With the right contact you can get a request placed.

Lucky me - I have 2. One today after negotiator sent to the investor our "agree" to the bank counter last week and another where BofA is 2nd only. Guess I'll get to see if the media team has the fortitude to deal with both..
