Wells Fargo Gives me 8 days to Close

After 8 months on the market and 2 buyers, Wells Fargo finally sent me the short sale approval letter for my second buyer giving me a close on/before date of March 30. When I told them there was no way we could get this done in 8 days, they said to just send in an extension for the closing date. I asked if they would have to re-issue the approval letter and they said no. I just do not believe them.

Any thoughts, or similar experiences?

they do this a lot with cash buyers.
