Where do you go for help when a mortgage has been paid off, the bank and title company no longer exist, and the bank was taken off of MERS in 2007??
Homeowners took out a 1st mtg and HELOC in March, 2007. In July, they refinanced the HELOC to increase the line from $39,000 to $63,000 with the same bank, Nationwide Lending. Homeowner doesn't have the refi HUD to show 1st HELOC was paid off. We are ready to close, but can't until I can clear this lien. Anyone have a MERS Ph # with a Human attached to it?
