My clients did a bankruptcy and the loan was charged off, but the lien remained on the house.  Now, in order to complete the short sale, Greentree has to cooperate and agree to accepting less than that loan amount.  You would think they would be thrilled to get $6000 on a loan that was written off, but so far they are not making it easy.
Make a settlement offer to the bankruptcy department. Most SS Negotiators aren't educated on how the bankruptcy process affects short sales.
