This property was actively for sale on the MLS for over 3 years without a buyer, then we found a buyer and we changed the status to "pending" on the MLS.
The quality control dept at BofA just closed the short sale after 3 months of waiting for an approval, stating that they were unable to find the property on websites like Redfin, Zillow, Movoto, ect. and it must be found there in order to approve the short sale.
What is going on?!

I'm with Joe. Put it back into active status. Don't argue. You can be right as rain and not close your short sale. When you put it into active status, add a modifier to it to alert other agents that there is something unusual with this particular file. For example, I can add "pending rescission" to my active status, which tells agents there is an offer that would need to be rescinded in order for another offer to be accepted. Which is true in any pending sale. :) Because remember, you also must be truthful in advertising.
I'd add to that and say check with your Broker and/or MLS first.
