I have a short sale listing and the sellers have been approved and agree to participate in HAFA.  I thought one of the benefits was that the foreclosure process is halted? Not necessarily that the clock stops ticking, but that you were assured that you would not be foreclosed on while in the program?

My sellers received a notice of trustee sale on their door today.

The SS has not been assigned to a negotiator yet; so I am wondering if that is why and this will be dealt with at that time?

Thanks so much!!

If theres an auction date set, they can't participate in HAFA.  You need to do a regular sale and hope they postpone the sale.

Oh they were approved to participate first.  there was not sale date set at that time.

I just closed a HAFA short sale in November and the foreclosure date was postponed twice.
