Cindy, I was transferred from customer service at 800-634-7928 after explaining that I needed someone who could give me a more detailed answer. I think that the people I talked to all along were excellent, polite, and attempted to be helpful to the limits of their ability. It could have been a shorter process if they told me early on that VA loans were exempted from HAFA.

What is the email set-up for SunTrust. I have a negotiators name...but they won't give me any contact info.

Thanks

Jim how do you get to the office of the President? Would like to get an response to a file that has been in play since mid-December. Cash buyer waiting patiently but for how much longer?

Today, 4/18/2010, Called loss mitigation, was told that Suntrust is not now complying with HAFA, they don't know when they will.
I have bucked up to the Office of the President, supposed to get back to me today.
As I was posting this, I got my callback.
It seems that since this is a VA loan, VA rules apply, not HAFA. You cannot get an approved price under VA Compromise Sale rules without an offer.

I had a deal with SunTrust that actually went real smoothly and got an approval within 2/3 months - then the Buyer walked - and the next buyer walked and the third Buyer finally stuck. So it ended up taking forever but it wasn't because of SunTrust. They've been one of the nicest companies I've dealth with.

Can not tell you haw much better I feel after reading these last few comments. I will say that Suntrust monitors this site (found out when negotiator sent my earlier post to me). Once again, we now have first as a go and still no word from Suntrust in writing.

I have been dealing Suntrust on a deal since July!!! I'm not sure which company dislike the most Suntrust or Chase. Both take forever.

SunTurst short sale proces seems to have slowed down even more from my last transaction at the end of 2009. I am 4 months into this transaction. Negotiator finally assigned, financials reviewed but investor has not signed off. Can't get to the negotiator or escalate. Cash buyer hanging in but now foreclosure notice has been sent. Had to pull my last one from foreclosure too. No sense in how they operate.

Has anyone done a short sale with Suntrust that has been negotiated from start to finish in 90-120 days? Suntrust is one of the slowest lenders that I have ever dealt with. First offer submitted 10/23/10 then buyer backed out, second offer cash submitted 2/3/10 and no approval yet. Any positive feedback is welcome. patience, patience. have a great weekend. Lupe
