After many many hours of tine myself as well as the co op agent spent on trying to hold down our buyers on this sale. I finally threw up my hands and told them to stick it.the buyers were cash buyers and they would not even talk to us. I think they knew all along they ere going to foreclose now the sad part is they have listed it with another realtor at a price below what our offer was. It makes no sense at all. I spent countless hours on the phone and talked to people who were totally incompetent. People that had no vested interest and could care less if met life gets the money or not.My poor sellers had to file personal bankruptcy not to mention the mental anguish of knowing we had an approved price that buyers and sellers had approved a cash deal and Met Life screwed it up royally....Good Luck I feel for YOu in every way.

I feel for you.  I submitted our offer to MetLife on 2/28.  It's now 6/10.  They finally did the BPO last month.  Every time I call, which is a couple times a week, supposedly they escalate it to a manager, but nothing ever comes of it.  It cracks me up that they ask for my phone number every time I call in - like they're ever going to call me!  After reading your story, I'm afraid they will just let it foreclose and I will have wasted all this time.  I can't believe the buyers are hanging in there.  If I knew who who the investor was, I would call them and let them know what a crappy job their servicer is doing for them and how they are wasting their money.

My short sale with Metlife finally has closed as of today.  It was not easy and you are correct, Metlife employees don't know what they're doing.  They don't even know there's a foreclosure on a property because it doesn't show in their system until a few days before the auction date when they are sent a notice. Then I had to tell Metlife there was a foreclosure and to kindly send a notice to the servicer to push back the date.  I was told by my negotiator / underwriter that they were given directives not to push back a foreclosure for a short sale because short sales don't always close! I told them the buyers were waiting for their approval so they could close but they had no intention of doing anything.   Basically, they are terrible and don't care about short sales. I found another way to get my short sale closed.  You should know that you can have the seller send them a written request to find out who the investor is.
