Hi All, I have a new short sale with a 1st with Bank of New York Mellon. I tried to put the loan # into Equator through BofA and it isn't taking it. Is there a short sale dept at Bank of New York Mellon or a phone number. I am just trying to get the ball rolling and I can't even initiate this anywhere. Thanks in advance for any help!!!!
I don't know what the items are needed for Mellon Bank but if you are talking about Bank of NY Mellon... you DO KNOW that this is a subsidiary owned by B of A don't you??? If this is the case, just submit the same items you would to Bank of America... this group is their private investor..which is basically THEMSELVES.... B of A has tons of Private Investment groups they formed or offshoots....who OWN their loans... Bank of NY Mellon is the largest one...

Okay,
So what if a first lien is with Bank of America and the second lien is with Bank of NY Mellon, this should be fairly like both liens being with Bank of America correct? Much easier than two separate banks?

You sure it is Bank of NY Mellon? There is a Mellon Bank that is different I beleive
I'm with Brian,
I've never seen them do a direct short sale. They are the investor or trustee on multiple loans, but not the servicer.
