Here is an update ...  Chase was right... since  the investor is Freddie Mac- and Freddie requires you to apply for HAFA before you present an offer.  In the meantime, Chase wanted more money for the property, and the buyer withdrew the offer.   We  are therefore, closing the HAFA application at this time.  Question now is, can we re-apply for HAFA?  ...  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks...

I had posted a link on a different blog for the HAFA Supplemental Directive.

you need to  look at page 12 , last paragraph at the bottom of the page, in  bold type,

Borrower Relocation Assistance. The only thing that is mentioned is 'successful closing".

When you call them,  cite this directive and read it to them. They are required to follow it.
