Is there nothing a buyer agent can do to check on status of Short Sale process with Aurora? Listing agent says, "no word no word" but I want to check footsteps.

Unfortunately, a buyer's agent cannot access the information regarding status of a short sale directly from the lender as you are not on the "third party authorization."  If the short sale has been submitted for two weeks or more with Aurora, the listing agent should be able to obtain status update.  Our experiences with Aurora have been about 2 weeks in set-ups, a couple of weeks with processor, then about a month with negotiator.  Processor orders and records bpo value.  Listing agent can get information from processor on bpo value by asking if offer is inline with bpo results.  Processor will tell him/her if it is too low, and how much too low, resulting in counter offer.  If this short sale has been with Aurora for more than a month, then listing agent is simply not calling weekly for updates as they should.  Aurora does not reach out to agents requesting missing information like some servicers.  The listing agent has to call them to obtain any information on the file until final stages of negotiations, at which time negotiator will contact listing agent.  The phone number listing agent should call for updates is 866-521-3828
