I have a short sale in process through Equator and need some advice regarding getting the foreclosure postponed.  It is scheduled for Sept 4.  We are in the "negotiation" phase and the negotiator is not responding to my messages.

Thank you,

Jennifer Davis

Call customer service and ask if a postponement has been requested. If not, ask them to contact the negotiator to request it.

Thanks, I will do that. I tried that earlier and they said it was "too soon."  Now that it is closer, maybe that will work.

Wow - did that work!! Thanks so much.  I got a counter offer within 2 hours, although it was much higher than I expected.  Do you know if they ever consider a counter to their counter?

Thanks!

Don't sit around waiting for the negotiator - they are good at saying, "too bad" when it is too late and happily walking away with a donut in hand. Get it moving. Tweet @BofA_HELP or call the office of the president. Don't let it sit until they really can't do anything. BofA has erected a bunch of hoops to make short sales more cumbersome and painful and demanding faster responses from sellers/buyers/agents. Point this out, and have them explain to you how you are facing a foreclosure right away and the negotiator can't be bothered to communicate, etc... - if he is laid up with alcohol poisoning, then you want to talk to his manager or someone who is authorized to actually do some work on short sales. In other words, don't let them off of the hook.

Thanks, Joe.
