Seller Contribution To Short Sale?

Good Morning. Several of the Banks have required the Seller to agree to contribute funds as a condition of the Short Sale Approval and have said if they don't, they are going forward on the foreclosure. Has anyone had this experience and challenged it? Please share your experiences and resolutions . . . Thanks, Gail
