I have a short sale that has a buyer but Nation Star says that it has to go through auction first. Has anyone else had this happen and what was the outcome? Also is there a way to avoid the auction?

The first time Nationstar insisted on Auction.com, we were able to be "grandfathered in" not to have to do it. But as time went on and Nationstar wasn't netting what they felt the property was worth (seller even had a full blow appraisal done per Nationstars request to dispute value), we finally caved or they would have closed the file. Auction.com website is weird, I could never upload anything. They make you do open houses, and the current buyer has to register. Outsome was they didn't get a better offer and now they are reviewing the file again. Let's see what happens.

Yes .. many sellers are being 'forced' to go along with this. Google info for a strategy here and Active Rain.
