How long does the process take just to get a negoiator assigned?  We are buyers and are getting very frustrated.  The listing agent and the seller call and harass BOA every day and they just keep on saying that we'll have a negotiator soon.  This goes on and on....  :(

Did you get your approval yet? I am in the same boat in that equator says we have a negotiator but have not heard from anyone. I has been almost two weeks and nothing...
We got our negotiator on May 24th. On the 26th they had the home appraisal done and then we didn't hear anything for the next month! Almost two months just to *get* a negotiator and then we heard from them once and then it sat for another month. We were beyond frustrated and started looking at houses again and actually put in an offer on another property. Low and behold nearly three months after our offer BOA has given preliminary approval while giving out a list of things they need to do before they formally agree. They counter offered saying they were going to only give us 1% seller help, so we countered again with a lower offering price. We are now waiting on the word on that. Our agent the listing agent thinks we should get final word very soon, but I'm treading carefully. Nothing goes fast with them. :( Good luck to you.
I had the same problem. I would call customer service and they would transfer the call to the negotiator... nothing. No answer, no voicemail. I was lucky to run into another local agent during lunch, who had been dealing with a negoitator with Bank of America, so I asked for her contact person. She only had the email address. I emailed the negotiator and within 30 minutes, she called me back. I exlpained to her that I had not heard anything since the first time I put an offer. She explained that they were short staffed until recently. Bank of America just hired 100+ people to help since these short sales are becoming so popular. Well needless to say, she took over the file and the most amazing thing happened. I got an Approval Letter within a WEEK!!! Yes, a WEEK!!! Of course, there lots of documents that I had not uploaded and my seller had not complete a couple task, but she was quick to help. Make sure you or your seller uploads a Hardship letter, 2 most recent bank statements, 2 most recent pay stubs and last two year tax returns. Sometimes you may have to provide an 1126 Form. Her name is Crystal Tesh and I cannot thank her enough. We were losing the buyer and this home would of gone into foreclosure. I have another short sale and I have requested she work my file.
