Any experience with GMAC in-house lending arm Residential Funding Corporation

First mtg, Seller called GMAC to see if it was a Fannie / Freddie investor. GMAC cust-serv rep said no, it is their in-house lending arm: Residential Funding Corporation. ?? A first for me. Anybody done one with them?

I don't think I have but my guess is being in house will be a good thing.

Thanks, but so far I have not found anyone who has experienced them. Not even either of my short sale attorneys. I am beginning to wonder if GMAC Cust Serv misadvised.
