I am hopefully in the final stages of a short sale on my home. Flagstar says they have request a variance from FHA, I can not get a straight answer from them as to how long it will take to hear back from FHA. Futher more, no one at Flagstar seems to know what I mean when I asked what percent I'm at. They also do not use negociators, so I talked to someone different every time I call there. Any advice??

OMG Flagstar is a total pain.  NEgotiators are Rude.  I had one very rude, but after we told her buyer may sue them, she reacted and started to be more proactive.  I do not have any particular contacts, but If you are in an active short sale, your realtor may be working via equator.  On equator (online platform to submit and process the short sale) your agent is able to send a message and cc (managers, vps, supervisors, etcc)  I would send a serious message requesting what is needed.

IMPORTANT: most of the time, servicers like Flagstar depend on INVESTORS liek freddie or Fannie which take a long time to respond...  And in this case, looks they are waiting on FHA... so, please consider to be reasonably patient.  Propbably you have been patience for too long already...  If so, push them, until you can get a response.

If this is a HAFA loan, you must contact hafa administration escalation.
