Maine you must be debt negotiator. NH you dont' have to be licensed but you DO have to follow the 479B law to the T if you aren't an agent and MA there is a restriction but I can't remember it as it didn't pertain to me. Let me dig it up.
we work in NH Mass and Maine, but I've done sales in NY. I think the key is to call the dep of licensure for the state you want to work in and ask if you need a specific license to negotiate a short sale. I would say most states overall do not require a license but I know Washington, California and a few others do.
