I work with people who need help with their credit after they have completed a short sale. We work with the 3 credit bureaus to update our client’s credit report to report the pre foreclosure/short sale as a paid account. There is less damage to a credit report after a short sale than a foreclosure. Another advantage is the ability to buy another home within 2 years over the 5- to 7-year period required for foreclosures.
