I had the same situation as Anna. It was charged off and with the recovery department. They located it with the Seller's social security number.

David, I just had the same thing happen with WAMU 2nd heloc. It turns out the loan was charged off and was finally "found" in their recovery department. Just keep calling them and do not hang up until they find it. It took me a few hours!

Anyone had this problem? I have a 2nd lien with Wamu. I called the number and gave the loan # which is a Wamu account. The call gets transfered to Chase. I gave them the Wamu loan # which they could not locate in their system since they are Chase and asked that I call Wamu. There is no such thing as wamu since wamu is now Chase. The owner does not have a letter indicating the new Chase loan #.

I provided them with the owner's ssn and they still could not locate in the system. Now, I'm at a limbo trying to figure out how to track it down since the wamu loan # is no longer valid. Anyone know how to go around this? thanks for your input!

When you call the new WAMU number which is Chase, they will then connect you again to a WAMU person!

Pam,
If you have good comps supporting your purchase price, try disputing the BPO and make sure you meet the new BPO agent at the property and share the appropriate comps with them.

Anna, you are so right… and that is exactly what we are doing. That is how we got it through with less than 1-week to foreclosure (Listed it, Negotiated Offer, Got all necessary docs to both lenders, Got Foreclosure Postponed – All in 1-week). Unfortunately, for some reason they are no longer communicating. I am assuming it is because the Offer is way below the BPO's. I have not been able to secure a higher offer. I’m still emailing and leaving messages with several of the "Top" people there. Still working on it, will not quit…. At least we were able to get more time to secure a better offer, so far.......

Pam,
Unfortunately, it is entirely up to you to call and follow up and stay on top of what they are doing - that is our job... And when you find that they are not doing what they should, again, it is up to you to go all the way to the top to make sure it gets done.

Good News! I was able to get Foreclsosure Postponed for 25 days! Bad news... I have never had a response from WAMU. 22-days and no response from WAMU. The only reason I even know they received my package (1-week prior to foreclosure date) and are working on it... I did some on-line research (1-day before foreclosure date) and found where they postponed the Foreclosure for 25 days. Then, on Monday, I received a call from an agent wanting to do a BPO. Wouldn't you think they would at least let me know? My Seller could have gone ahead and filed Bankruptcy, the Buyer could have walked, and all their work would have been wasted....
