Suntrust - No finality to a short sale since August 30, 2013.  I am emailing more executives today.  They are making my record of slowest short sale in over two years.

Happy New Year everyone! I see by all the comments Sun Trust isn't the most fun to deal with.. sigh..  :(

SUNTRUST short sale in process for FOUR months. Bank of America approved it as junior lien TWO MONTHS AGO.  I was just told the Suntrust negotiator was on vacation and didn't tell anyone! No one was working on his files.  I have emailed three executives at Suntrust with zero response.  Impressive.

Ive never heard of any lender accepting e-signatures on short sales. ...Don't know why not. When dealing with a lender as fussy as SunTrust, I'd avoid another complication even if someone at SunTrust said yes.

Is Suntrust ok with e-signature documents such as listing agreement, contract, and exhibits?

@michelle - start looking for like properties for you buyers so you can keep them if this one doesn't work out.

Fred, that is terrifying! I wish you the best of luck!! I just it hope I'll get lucky and it will get done in 90 days. Why or WHY did I let my little first time home buyers offer on a Short Sale?!?! They're already losing their minds and we're just over 30 days. I told them over and over that I've had short sales take as long as a year but, they seem to have forgotten that part as soon as we got the property under contract. Thanks for the comments!

U fortunately they do run 90 days. They have 3 layers of processing. I had the same issue and then one day--poof the approval was in my inbox.

Michelle

I have had a short sale at SunTrust since March. They are terrible and require constant follow up. My client (seller) finally filed a complaint with the new consumer board that the Dodd Frank Act created. That caused the file to be escalated but I still don't have approval. I contacted the "single point of contract" who told me that they had the information but no decision had been made. I am not hopeful that this deal will get done by the end of the year.

I have seen others say that they have had deals approved much quicker but I am starting to think that those loans are owned by an investor other than SunTrust. This loan is owned by SunTrust and they have been dragging their feet the whole time.
